Kick Off Christmas at Waller Park
Lisa's Pony Rides will be at the event.
Looking for a fun way to kick off the Christmas Season this year?
The Friends of Waller Park are having a “Kick Off Christmas at Waller Park” tree lighting event November 30th from 4 – 6 PM in the front portion of the park on Orcutt Road. This event is in conjunction with the Santa Barbara Parks Division, Hanohano Shave Ice, and Lisa’s Pony Rides in the Park
“The Friends of Waller Park and Waller Park staff are really excited to bring this new event to the community. The park is so beautiful, and even in the cooler months is a great place to bring family to play and enjoy the beauty of nature,” said Justin Lieberman, Chairman of Friends of Waller Park. “The inclusion of Lisa’s Ponies, the Central Coast Chordsmen, and Hanohano with special winter offerings make this event all the more special,” added Juliann Hemphill, Coordinator for the group.
At 5 PM the new 26-foot Fairy Bell Christmas Tree on the island in the front pond of the park will be illuminated to bring in the Christmas Season. While waiting for the tree lighting, visitors can enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, shave ice, or even a warm waffle from Hanohano Shave Ice. 20% of the proceeds from your purchase from Hanohano goes to support Friends of Waller Park in preserving and enhancing Waller Park, and helping with events like the return of the Kids Fishing Tournament this last August.
Parking is available along Orcutt Road in front of the park for this event. The park gate will be closed for the evening.
Also available will be pony photos and Pony rides from Lisa’s Pony Rides, who will temporarily operate in the front of the park for the event. The ponies will be all decked out in holiday attire and there may even be a visit from you know who! The Central Coast Chordsmen will also be on hand to sing some holiday favorites for those in attendance. Don’t miss this festive holiday event! Questions? FriendsofWallerPark@gmail.com or 805-363-8737
